I wanted to get some practice making more AAA style encounters and combat, so I downloaded a kit that has traversal and gunplay built in.
Inspired heavily by Alan Wake 2, but exploring reflected spaces rather than looping spaces. I am enjoying playing with darkness in traversal and combat encounters! CURRENTLY IN PROGRESS
Because there's a lot of assets, landscaping tools and enemies, UEFN is a great tool to get in some practice. Here's some levels I've worked on, follow the links to see my process in further detail!
I use a three act structure, set pieces and a little scripting to communicate a setting with ruins coming out of the ground.
Practicing basic encounter design in UEFN. Thematically, an exploration of encounter design in indoor spaces. But also, learning how to use a diverse enemy roster.
